Holodeck Recreation In-Person

Test your Starfleet officer training with our gauntlet of both virtual reality games and board games. Command the VR bridge of a VR starship; challenge your friends in phaser tag; and test your strategic skills playing board games. As you train, top by for a drink at Quark's virtual bar. Adults and teens alike are welcome at Holodeck Recreation which will meet from 2-4pm in the Bloomington Public Library Community Room.

  • VR Star Trek Bridge Crew
  • "We were born too late to explore the Earth; we were born too early to explore the Galaxy.” However, we were born just in time to explore the U.S.S Enterprise! Join us as we play “Star Trek Bridge Crew,” a cooperative virtual reality game where players assume the roles of members of the Enterprise crew and attempt, with the help of the other players, to pilot the Enterprise and complete Starfleet missions.
  • For the first time, we will be using the teen Zone’s new Playstation VR headsets which allow up to 4 players to simultaneously experience a “holodeck” version of the Enterprise’s bridge. Do you have what it takes to fill the shoes of Captain James T. Kirk? Can you out-Spock Spock? How about pilot a 4,500,000-ton 24th century star ship?
     
  • Phaser Tag
  • Who will prove to be the most ruthless Klingon Warrior? Challenge three friends or strangers to a test of skill and agility playing Phaser Tag. You’ll have 10 minutes to score as many points as possible.

  • Seek out Quark’s Bar for some Romulan Ale or Klingon Blood Wine and more of your favorite Star Trek beverages.
