Sir Winston S. Churchill: The Greatest Statesman of the 20th Century In-Person
Winston Churchill played a prominent role in the late 19th century colonial wars with the British Empire as well as in World Wars I and II. He held every British government office other than Foreign Secretary; was an associate of virtually every world leader during the first half of the 20th Century; and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. This presentation covers Churchill’s life and times, his unique war meetings, rare photos, and brief excerpts from his speeches. Speaker Daniel Myers, retired executive director of the International Churchill Society in Washington, D.C., will give this 7pm presentation in the Bloomington Library Community Room as part of the Library’s World War I series of programs.
