1000 Books Before Kindergarten Kick-Off
Join us as we introduce our new year-round Library program, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, with Storyteller Mike Lockett! The Library encourages all families and their caregivers to read 1000 books with their young children before they enter kindergarten. All children, ages birth to 5 years old, are eligible for this program. It’s a fun, exciting, and free way to start children on the path to success. Come find out how simple it is to get started, track the number of books read, and use the Library to reach your goal! One of the most reliable predictors of school success is being read to during early childhood. The Library would like to help support you as you prepare your child for kindergarten. Most importantly, sharing books with children promotes a lifelong love of books and reading. 1000 books may seem like a lot, but if you read just one book each night, you’ll meet your goal in less than three years!
