The Unforgiven, a Look at a True Crime Case in Central Illinois In-Person

Fifteen years ago, in a case that garnered national media attention, three children drowned in Clinton Lake. The Pantagraph crime reporter Edith Brady-Lunny covered the case from start to finish, beginning the night of the drownings. She and Steve Vogel, author of another local, true-crime story, Reasonable Doubt, have teamed up to write the book, The Unforgiven: The Untold Story of One Woman’s Search for Love and Justice, about that night. The book chronicles the drowning deaths of the children, the subsequent investigation, and the trials of their mother and her boyfriend. Brady-Lunny says, “We’ve put together a comprehensive look at this complex investigation into whether this was a horrible accident or a murderous plot." The authors will sign copies of their book if brought by attendees. No books will be sold at the program.
