Thomas Metcalf School and University High School Chinese students welcome you to our 2nd Annual Chinese Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. Your family passport awaits you as you explore the world of China. There will be many stops along the way.  

• Listen as storyteller Mike Lockett retells popular Asian stories and shares interesting tidbits of his travels abroad.  

• Gaze at Ms. Yanduan Yu’s Chinese Art Painting and try your hand at using a Chinese paintbrush.  

• Learn to write Chinese calligraphy.  

• Stroll through a traditional Chinese clothing booth.  

• Create a festive craft.  

• Work on an art project with your child and the Illinois Art Station. 

• Have a temporary tattoo applied to your arm or forehead. 

• Watch local performers such as Lion Dance, Chinese Dance, and Chinese Kung Fu.  

• And finally, children who complete their World of China passport will enjoy a tasty “moon” prize (while supplies last).
