Girls Who Code In-Person
Girls Who Code is a nationwide nonprofit organization which aims to increase the number of women in computer science related fields. The organization promotes safe, fun environments to build computer programming skills and confidence. With 9 sessions, those who’ve registered will be taught fundamental concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basics of all computer programming languages. Participants will learn to work as a team. These sessions are open to all kids in grades 6-12. Registration is required and limited to the first 15 teens to register. Online registration opens at 10am on Monday, Aug 12, at bloomingtonlibrary.org. Questions regarding registration can be emailed to techprogramming@bloomingtonlibrary.org.
Participants should register prior to September 3 and plan to attend all the sessions being offered as the club will continuously build on the previous week’s lesson.
