BPL Letterbox Challenge
You may have heard of geocaching, but have you ever heard of letterboxing? Letterboxing is a treasure hunt in which participants locate boxes which have been hidden throughout the community.
During the month of July and August, you can use clues found at atlasquest.com to start searching for any/all of the more than 30 letterboxes we’ve hidden. Each box will contain a stamp press; you’ll need to bring your own marker(s) with you from home. Once a box is located, you’ll color the stamp with your markers and press its image into a piece of paper of a notebook you’ve brought with you from home. The finders(s) walk away with the stamped image while leaving the box and stamp where they were found so they can be enjoyed by others on the quest.
Beginning July 1, you will be able view clues which will lead to the boxes. To view these clues:
• visit atlasquest.com;
• search for Bloomington, IL;
• click on any result titled “BPL Letterbox Challenge”
• click on “view clue”.
When you're on the atlasquest website, hovering over the icons located next to each letterbox’s title will tell you more about the letterbox and its location.
If you want to digitally record your finds or leave comments, you’ll need to register for a free account on the Atlas Quest website (this is optional). And if you want to share tales of your adventures (without giving away your location) tag us on social media!
